Seagoing Experience

Ed started his Merchant Navy career in 2005, prior to that he had spent 6 years in small commercial boat operations in and around coastal waters.

17 years in Merchant Navy holding all ranks
Practical knowledge of all aspects of crew and vessel safety inc. SMS construction and reviews
Currently Authorised Pilot and member of UKMPA
Extensive experience in Towage sector and currently working in the passenger sector
Experience in ISM, ISPS, OVID & OVMSA Audits
Knowledge of passenger, tanker, container and offshore operations.

Shoreside Experience

Ed has spent the last 6 years heavily involved in the port operations sector holding roles such as Deputy Harbour Master, Harbour Master and Marine Operations Manager

23 years spent in or around port operations with 6 years acting as Deputy Harbour Master and Harbour Master
Practical knowledge of all aspects of harbour safety inc. PMSC compliance, reviews and audits
Extensive experience in management and operation of marine services
Proven experience in project management of shore and sea based operations and associate member of Association of Project Managers
In depth experience in PMSC, ISPS, SHA, CHA, HSE, Trust Port Operations and Oil Pollution Response
Knowledge of working with Non-exec boards, senior management teams, finance control, operational and admin teams.
